Jim was born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming. After graduating from the University of Wyoming in 1963, he joined the company in August of that year as the first member of the third generation of the Wallick and Volk family. At that time, the company had six employees and three real estate agents. In the ensuing decades, the company substantially expanded its loan origination, mortgage servicing, real estate, and insurance divisions. The insurance and mortgage servicing divisions were sold in the 1990's and the real estate division in 2005. Jim became president in 1980 after the untimely death of his father, Roy Volk. I have been in the mortgage banking industry since 1987. Starting as a Loan Originator and eventually becoming the President & CEO of my own mortgage banking firm. We employed over 150 people and funded more than 100 million per month in residential home loans at our peak. I have seen every interest rate climate imaginable plus many changes to our industry.
One thing that has never changed is my commitment to my clients and my desire to deliver results to my clients that are second to none. The financing of a home for most people is the most significant obligation they will incur during their lifetime. As such, my goal is to make that experience as pleasant as possible while minimizing the natural stress associated with financing a home from the consumer side of the equation.
I have been married for over 21 years and my wife and I have three daughters and a son. In addition to raising a family I have always been very active in the community especially with youth sports. For the past 4 years I have been the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Gilbert Christian High School. I believe we all have an obligation to give back to our community.
